Guillermo Del Toro has finally broken the silence on the story that he is to direct The Hobbit movies to admit it is not yet confirmed despite many sources jumping the gun and reporting it was a “done deal.” The story broke last week following a French translator introducing Del Toro to the audience as “The Hobbit director.” You can see the video of the introduction of Del Toro here.“Well, the reality is that the Hobbit story has broken early because the negotiations have not ended and The Hobbit is not a sure thing,” he tells this month’s Total Film.“The reality is, I will know that it’s happening when we have the final word and I am fully and officially on board.”He also confirms that he would love to do The Hobbit were he to actually get it.
